The PSGRM™ is a small monitor of gamma radiation that measures the "external effective gamma dose rate" (external dose rate) and the "external effective dose" (external dose). The monitor is extremely sensitive. The readability of the external dose rate is 0.01 microSv/h and of the external dose 0.01 microSv (µSv). The external dose, the external dose rate and the reading number are simultaneously displayed on a two line LCD either every 10 s or 1 min as follows:
0.00073mSv No379
0.00031mSv/h
The external dose rate readings and primary gamma counts in either 10 s or 1 min counting intervals can be downloaded to the MS Hyperterminal or Putty program as the text file. This feature is useful for the retrospective assessment of external dose rates in a workplace. The PSGRM™ contains the 1.6cm x 6.5cm LCD, the pulse counter with a microprocessor, NiMH battery and a GM tube.
Note: The PSGRM can be used in the E-monitoring mode if it is coupled with the RDS E-Monitoring Interface. Monitoring data is sent to the RDS Monitoring platform via:
