The LBAC is a microprocessor based radiation monitor that detects the alpha radiation on either Φ25 mm or Φ37 mm air filters. The measured alpha counts are converted to alpha Bq's taking into account the programmed Background Count Rate (BCR) and the Counter Detection Efficiency (CDE). The Alpha Count and the Counting Time are simultaneously displayed on the LCD. By pressing the second switch (N) at the end of counting the alpha activity (Bq) on the filter is displayed.
The unit can be used as a Portable LBAC or a bench LBAC as it has an internal high capacity rechargeable NiMH battery pack that supports at least 24 hours of an interrupted operation.
